The National Youth Orchestra of Dubai will make history as the first orchestra from the UAE to perform at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City. This landmark achievement will culminate in a performance on June 20, 2025, led by the esteemed American conductor and composer, Mr. Jonathan Winter Barrett. The performance will feature a collaboration with notable Emirati composer, Founder & President of the Emirati Musicians’ Association, and cultural ambassador, Ihab Darwish. Darwish will present the American Premiere of one of his musical compositions.
On this momentous occasion, over 60 NYO Dubai members will perform at Carnegie Hall alongside two distinguished U.S.-based youth orchestras. This remarkable opportunity reflects not only the incredible talent of our young musicians but also an opportunity enabled by the support of distinguished sponsors who believe in our mission to create unforgettable memories as our orchestra takes the stage in one of the world’s most iconic venues.

Recently, in very exciting news the National Youth Orchestra has been honoured by an official invitation to perform at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City on 20 June 2025 and for a special anniversary performance at the United Nations HQ in NYC. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will take place at the legendary Isaac Stern Auditorium/Ronald O. Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.
Many of the most renowned musicians in the world can only dream of performing at the revered Carnegie Hall. The NYO Dubai is one of only four ‘auditioned’ Youth Orchestras who will be taking part in this celebratory concert. This is more than just a concert; it’s a chance for our students to showcase their artistry in one of the most iconic concert halls in the world. Imagine the pride and joy of our UAE youth performing on that famous stage!
In addition to the performance, our musicians will also participate in a private musical workshop/masterclass with Helen H. Cha-Pyo, the distinguished conductor and Artistic Director of the world-famous Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts. This invaluable mentorship will provide our students with insights and skills that will benefit their musical journeys offering unforgettable musical memories and cultural experiences
